Making an Impact one key at a time!

“On behalf of The Frances Clark Center, I am pleased to inform you that your project has been selected to receive a 2025 Community Impact Grant. Your clarity of purpose and experience in delivering impactful community programming stood out to the review panel.” Dr. Jennifer Snow, President and CEO, The Francis Clark Center of Keyboard Pedagogy / Dr. Leah Claiborne, Director, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, The Francis Clark Center of Keyboard Pedagogy.

My piano students continue to use their music learning and music making for a greater good, by joining me in working with community organizations to raise donations through practice projects, perform outreach concerts, volunteer together welcoming refugees to our area by accompanying group sings, participating in community farmers’ market gardens with other local students, and learning music that represents diverse cultures and composers around the world. I am honored to be a recipient of this newly funded Community Impact Grant in Piano Pedagogy. We are looking forward to the 2025-2026 school year, during which we will focus on sight reading and learning how to accompany group sing-alongs for language acquisition classes at the International Institute of New England. This emphasis will give our students the skills to accompany on the piano where group singing is important: church services, school music classes, music theatre productions, and family gatherings. Bravo to all of our students who are so willing to make their own impact on the world through their piano playing. I am excited to share that, on behalf of The Frances Clark Center, your project has been awarded a prestigious 2025 Community Impact Grant! The review panel was particularly impressed by your clear vision and remarkable experience in executing impactful community programs.

My piano students are dedicated to using their music education to make a difference. Together, we collaborate with community organizations to raise donations through practice projects, perform outreach concerts, volunteer to welcome refugees with joyful group sing-alongs, and engage in community gardens alongside other local students. Moreover, we celebrate and explore music that reflects diverse cultures and composers from around the globe.

Receiving this Community Impact Grant for Piano Pedagogy is a tremendous honor, and we are excited to dive into the 2025-2026 school year. Our focus will be on enhancing sight-reading skills and mastering the art of accompanying group sing-alongs, particularly for language acquisition classes at the International Institute of New England. This emphasis will empower our students to play a vital role in various community settings, including church services, school music programs, musical theater productions, and family gatherings.

Kudos to our students who are inspiring change and making a meaningful impact through their passion for piano!
